Eastoke Beach, 1990. Replenished beach some five years following placement of the fill. Much of the consolidated fill has been reworked by wave action and removed by littoral drift. As a result, the beach narrowed and storm wave overwash could once again approach the walls protecting the gardens of beachfront properties. It has required a considerable beach management programme, including recycling of gravel, to maintain beach stability over the succeeding years.
