Beachy Head 2001 illustrating the cliff fall of 1999. A major rockfall has delivered some 200,000 to 300,000 cubic metres of material to the foreshore in a single event where it has formed a debris lobe. Note the flint gravel accumulation to the west intercepted by the lobe. This demonstrates a slow drift of flint gravel eastward around the headland where it is believed ultimately to provide an input to Eastbourne's beaches.
